The Sudd is a large swamp, often imprenetrable, in the deserts of the Sudan (where it gets its name), along the mighty Nile.
While a ferocious civil war for a couple of decades probably has prevented any hunting recently, I wonder if anyone knows of any historical, or pre-civil war hunts that took place there? And what sort of game was hunted and how?

I have read (but where) that some disillusioned french PHs spent fortunes to create facilities there and especially sort of vehicules to travel across this nightmare of a swamp. The whole project was a disaster. I wonder who, when and in which book I have read it.
