Why the USA is the grouse hunting capital of the world and the Brits have fallen behind.

Although an entirely different kind of Grouse, I've found the hunting to be quite good where I've lived and hunted in Wisconsin and Michigan. Ruffed Grouse are also doing well here in Pennsylvania.

Hah! What a load of c#*p! Thats like comparing chalk and cheese! For a start its a different bird and while ruffed grouse are shot walked up over pointers, English/Scottish grouse is famous as the ultimate test of the driven game shot. The experience of shooting on a 400 acre preserve is also rather different to a 15,000 acre Scottish of Northumbrian moor. Far from being in decline, 2008 looks like it will be a record year and meanwhile, interest in Scottish grouse moors and grouse shooting show no sign of decline and moors are currently valued for purchase at between £3,000 and £4,000 per brace (not acre!). In the suppsedly poor 2007 season (according to Forbes) Wemmergill moor in Northumberland shot over 7,500 brace!

what a load of B.S., wouldent it have been nice if the fuckwith had written an article where he said that grouse hunting in the US are picking up, and some people had found something other than pumpguns to hunt with. why the envy of britain?

shit i cant wait to go grouse hunting in scotland, in my tweeds and with my purdey or holland, simply to test myself as it is the best driven game in the world. but i have to wait untill i can afford it

the best walking up grouse game is in sweden hands down, a license will cost you 100$ a week and the areas you can hunt are in the 50 000 hektar size.

P.S you must be a dumb ass if you cant get 5 birds down, working over pointers is the best way to get the flush under control.

Damn
