Here are some photos of a flint rifle I built a few years ago. This was, and remains, the only muzzle loader that I have ever built. [image]i182.photobucket.com/albums/x297/Carpetsahib1/Flint4.jpg[/image]

Yes- very nicely done. I couldn't help noticing the vent liner's hole. Wad this moved back to align or perhaps it's an optical ollusion?

For a 1st rifle, it's fantastic. There is no better hunting rifle than an Englsih Sporting rifle.

Another great looking sporting rifle!

Is this one sold too or did you keep it?

It is an optical illusion. The vent does open into the breech plug which is a "patent breech", i.e., counter-bored to create a powder chamber.

I built this for a guy who changed his mind after it was completed. I then sold it on Gunbroker for about what I expected to get from the initial customer. Needless to say, I will do no more work for this particular individual.
