For years I have been using fiberglass stocks by the McMillan Company for my competition rifles and I have been most pleased with the results. They have a large selection of hunting type stocks and I'm sure they have something which would meet your needs. They are great to deal with. http://www.mcmfamily.com/index.php

A few years ago I called the McMillan Company to ask a question, and Gale McMillan himself answered the phone. We had a lengthy, pleasant, and informative conversation. I was most impressed.
Take care, Tom

I have used McMillans for many years, they are the top. You can get it from them as a near drop in with only glass bedding needed. Another good stock, well only the other I would use, is Hi-Tech Specialties. The old owner sold a bunch in Hawaii and Oz, I don't know about if the new owner does.

The Macs are pricey too,i know they are good though with a great name.

I had a Basner Hi Tech stock put on a ZG-47 in 9.3x62 this year and so far I couldn't be happier. It's light weight and very well made. If I hadn't used the Hi Tech, I would have used a McMillan "Hunters Edge".

Heaping as much guilt and social pressure as I can muster, backed up with threats to gather a planefull of NE members to track you down and force-feed you buckets of lutefisk if you do not comply, when are we going to get a full {pix included!} and complete posting on your ZG47 9.3 project???
Mmmm??????

B&C makes a very sturdy and affordable stock as well, works very well with the full beddeing block on most "Standardized" actions like my WBY's. I just don't like the B&C options for a the M98 variations.

Robertson Composites make some great stocks and the finish is far superior to McMillan IMHO. Don't know whether you will find the style you are looking for, but they can make up more or less anything special order if you are prepared to wait a few months (like 7 or 8)

Have also used McMillians--very good stocks..
Also have used HS Precison stocks and very happy with them also. Only others I have used is with a custom gun I purchased from Lex Webernick of "RIFLES INC."...which is very nice also--used for an ultra-light rifle---280 Rem caliber--with Leopold 4.5-14 ==entire gun weighs right at 6lbs....

Brown Precision is another possible source. I like the look of the Pro Hunter stock.

Its true that they are mainly known for target and benchrest stocks, but there is one standard sporter stock that can be inletted to suit various actions. From the homepage www.robertsoncomposites.com click on 'models' on the menu at the bottom of the page and then select 'general purpose hunting'. They can also duplicate any stock shape and create new designs too. From the homepage select 'custom moulding'. Robertsons are very high quality and the finish is way better than anything I have seen elsewhere and can be tailored to taste.
