Hey 88MauSporter

Thanks for the pictures. Gawd what a nice gun. I wondered if either gun had a cheekpiece. I'm just taken with the guns.

CptCurl,
Thanks for the info about the shot weight, 27 grains of black never did seem right to me either, but not knowing any better, I assumed that's what it meant. That's what happens when we make assumptions, I guess. By the way, mine has an almost identical cheekpiece as well. Bob H.

88MauSporter,
I love your gun as well, thanks for sharing it with us. What is the powder charge on the sides of the barrels? I am curious to compare them and couldn't quite read it . I would also like to know what your gun weighs. Bob H.

88MauSporter,
Yes, that is a nice gun you have there and quite similar to Bobs.
Your photos are great, and thanks very much for showing them.
It's threads like this that demonstrate how good this site is, where someone (in this case Mehul) asks a question about an unusual action type, and in no time at all we have two members showing awesome photos of their own guns, and also giving very informative descriptions on the mechanics of the design.

Bloody terrific I reckon.
Thanks again

Birdhunter50,
My 12ga barrels show a load table of 2.2 g Schp. N/A over the 32 g bl. This is the obvious difference in 12 ga from your 16 ga. I am not totally sure of the N/A stamp. This seems to be a stamp of a different size and font. I assume it may mean a reproof at some time with more modern smokeless powder.
The gun weighs in at 6 lbs and a couple of ounces. I only shoot light target loads of 1 to 1 1/8 ounce. I don't want to beat it up, or me. The l200 fps loads break clays and kill birds just fine.

I missed by a few minutes buying a Nimrod true boxlock 16 bore. It had extensive engraving and relatively short barrels. Very light weight. I have seen advertised a coulple of these guns in a combo sxs configuration.

88MauSporter,

Absolutely lovely gun! I can see why she occupies a special place in your gun case! Thanks for posting the pics.

4Seventy,

Very true. Every time a question is asked, some member here is more than willing to share their knowledge and take the time to post detailed explanations. You can't ask for better company!

Good hunting, everyone!
