Gone and done it
      #1153 - 22/01/03 12:22 PM

Well I've gone and done it. Went to Melbourne to buy a wall hanger Martini Henry 577/450 and instead bought one that can still shoot.

I intended to buy a full wood military style rifle, clapped out just for the wall, but instead bought a Rosier / Trantor civilian sporting rilfe which should be able to be used.

So now I will have the "joy" of learning how to load up the .577/.450 rounds with blackpowder and the rest.

(Actually I saw an article I think in Man Magnum when I was in Zim on the very subject of loading the .577/.450 and its trials and tribulations. Antone have a copy of that magazine??)

Will supply some pics and keep you informed on the (expectantly slow) progress.

Should be a great fun gun if I get it working.

NitroX,

I have the magazine somewhere in the house ! If I can find it I will scan the article and post it to you but no promises unless you can give me an idea of what month's issue it was.

S-H

It would be very much appreciated if you could send a copy of that article.

It was I think in the last four years, give or take a couple of years (it was an issue in a pile on the PH's shelves).

Nitro
I think I have at home an article about loading paper patched rounds for the martini. I'll have a look.
