Wow, nice rifle. Exceptional wood. Congratulations! Bet that thing kicks. I looked at one a couple of months ago. I'm jealous!

hoppdoc,

Congrats on the New Toy!! Very nice wood!

I've been so worried about you taking on those peske/dangerous garden grizzlies with your 500 NE

Glad to see that you have upgraded to a proper sized DG rifle!!

Enjoy.

Cheers...

Thanks all!!

A 505 boltface is shown below(haven't recieved my rifle yet)---
not much to surround the cartridge base but mine will operate at Double pressures!!! Not needed but the max load can be a 600 grainer at 2500 fps-Ouch!! Think I will go for 600 gr Woodleighs at around 2200-plenty enough for most any DG if I do my part!

From what I read feeding and ejection are sometimes issues--we'll see--

Great looking rifle. I have the same model in a Gibbs as well. Your pic's remind me that I need to get AHR to install a couple of cross bolts. Mine was an early version with full bedding, and thus far, after close to 180 rounds or so, no problems. But I like the insurance they would afford. You will love the CZ, and the 505 is a pussycat!

Congratulations! That is a fine looking rifle!

No problem. I plan on shooting 600 gr at maybe 2100-2150fps.

I am also interested in the 540 gr GS at 2250 to 2300 fps.
That's supposed to be an impressive whacker and the SD is around .300.

600gr at 2500fps--Nope, I am into being able to shoot a 2nd shot or more if needed. Also,I have no desire to have the gun become permanently imbedded in me as a foreign object!!
