Triplets...New Arrival!

...well, three barrels +...

I recently took delivery of a very nice 1958 vintage Sauer drilling in 16ga 70mm/6.5X57R with a Kreighoff 22 mag insert. The gun came from Dale Nygaard, and it is everything I have come to expect in a gun from Dale.

The photos don't do it justice; the stock carving is far better than the photo shows. The gun is exceedingly accurate, both with the 6.5 barrel and the insert.

what a beautiful gun, how is the 16 gauge choked?

That would be great gun for hogs in the thick stuff with the ability to reach out if required.

Thanks, all! I've been through a lot of drillings over 48 years time, and this one is one of the best, although not highly engraved, etc. It is just a very straight gun that fits me well and is in nice light chamberings and a trim package...important as I'm getting to an age where I don't relish packing a heavy gun.

I drew a cow elk tag for SE White Pine County and have a mountain lion tag. I am supposed to head to a place near the OR coast in Nov. for a Roosevelt elk hunt. If I get a nice NV cow elk I'll probably call it Good and go to OR next year; my freezer is not big enough for last fall's elk, a cow elk, and a BIG Rosie. Ahhh...the problems...

Also, we have to bring out the kitty-meat by law, and I need space for it, too.

It looks like your new drilling has it's work cut out already. Good to hear!

If you have issues with too much elk in your freezer, we need to talk right away.
I'm likely to pass through reno for the august 22-24 show.
My 1yr old, my 3yr old, my wife and I can help you with this problem. Elk does not go to waste in this home, doesn't last long either!
I know where to get dry ice in reno...
