Need some help.
A friend has a Sauer Drilling that was taken a part by a not so meticulous gunsmith and has a missing part or two. He doesn't know what is not there only that he was told that a piece was missing.
Any one out there that can diagnose this and make a new piece?

Mick-
My first call would be to JJ at champlin arms. If that doesn't pan out and he doesn't have anyone to refer you to, try this guy
Joseph Lee LeBas
Good luck to you and your friend.

Thanks Tinker. This is an old gun as he bought it when in High School and he is now 80. He said it was old when he bought it or he couldn't have afforded it then.

Mick-
So you know I want to see it now. Can you get photos?
Does he have a symptom of how 'it doesn't shoot' This isn't something as simple as a striker or sidelever pivot pin, is it?

I don't know the problem. It very well could be that simple. I was over today and the stock is off of it.
My guess is the Drilling is from the '20s. It was involved in a House fire about 10 years ago. The gun was given to a 'smith to redo and he is the guy that lost the part. It has been re blued (not very well) and now can't even shoot.
It's a real shame as it was really nice, a 16x16x7mm.

Allright Mick-
So get over there tomorrow morning for coffee, bring your digicam, and shoot whatever you can on it for us to look at.
Someone here might be able to point out for us that 'it's just the hoondang' or 'the whingding's on sideways' or the safety might be in backwards...
It's worth it, even if just for a cup of free coffee at your old friend's place!
