MAN! I looked at these before breakfast! Now I can't even eat my oatmeal.

I finally got out to Todd's shop this evening (Friday, June 19) and I took a few photos of the rifle. I'll try to post a few photos this weekend.

Cheers!

Well, here's some photos of the work in progress. The bottom metal shown is the bottom metal that came with the rifle. (It's probably military 98K bottom metal.) Replacement bottom metal has not been purchased yet but will be soon.

The new bolt handle from the Fred Wells shop has been attached to the bolt. Also, notice how the contours of the new barrel match the original barrel. As stated earlier, the original sights and barrel band have been installed on the new barrel.

Also, I stated earlier that the replacement stock was Turkish walnut. My mistake. It's Claro walnut.

She still looks a little rough but that will be corrected! I'm confident that the rifle is going to turn out well.

BTW, here's a little bio of my gunsmith, Todd Johnson, on Terry Wieland's web site:

Cheers!

Bob, thanks for posting the "Before's".

I've seen your gun projects before so I know this one will turn out to be a real gem.

I wish guns always came with a book describing where they were used and on what. This one would have a very interesting tale to tell!

Can't wait to see the final results, and even better, to see some new wear and a ding or two on it as it rest next to some bagged game!
