I wish to buy some .470 snap caps does anyone know the best place? prefer english gunmakers if available, Thanks

Kynamco, who makes and sells the current Kynoch ammo sells them and they look nice.

Midway has them...Zoom Brand I have them and they work fines and don't cost much

The best are A-Zoom , sold by Cabela's for under $20 usd! They are CNC turned, and look exactly like the live cartridge, only black! They are very good for checking feeding in a bolt rifle, and are the best for an ejector double rifle because they are abouth the same weight as the live cartridges! I have them for my 470NE, and my 9.3X74R doubles, two pairs each. The two paires are to practice dry-fireing, and quick re-loading og the next two rounds.

Some years ago I made some 12 guage snap caps by supergluing a piece of O-ring material of the appropriate diameter into a drilled out primer cup. It seemed to work fine until I got around to buying some proper ones, it might be worth trying similar if your had any tired cases that you no longer reloaded, at least until you can get some from one of the lands across the sea.
