I have a Siace Alaska in 45-70 that I bought new a couple of months ago. The workmanship is great and this is an upgraded model. The gun points at the target automatically as I throw it up to my shoulder. It just fits me perfectly. It is light for the caliber, 7 lbs +, and that is one of the reasons that I bought it. Recoil is not an issue, and I want to be able to carry a gun as long as I need to. I am trying to re-regulate it with handloads and a heavier bullet yet keeping the pressure conservative. I would definitely recommend a Siace as I think that they are a great value and very well made. Bob N.

I have been looking all over the web trying to find out what the going money is on the SIACE rifles. The very first price I've ever seen is in a Gander Mtn ad in Sporting Classics. HOLY COW!!! 14,000 dollars for a .45-70 Alaska EL!!!!!

For the same money the whole world is wide open with real stopper cartridges in range. I wondered if that is the normal price range, a typo or just that particular model?

The free falling dollar has driven the price of the Pedersoli Kodiak out of range for what it is IMO, and if sources are correct, same for the SIACE line.

I can't believe that asking price. Bass Pro Shops has a nice one, looks new, in a 444 Marlin for 6K. I'd try them. The two cartridges are fairly close. Dave

Contact Dewings. They had some Siace .30-06 versions (upgraded wood & engravng I believe) a couple of weeks ago.

Dave,

Im with you on the price. A Siace EL (top of the line version) will run you no more than $9k depending on where you buy it and the exchange rate. Most likely quite a bit less.

LGF, I will be happy to send you some pictures of my Alaska Lusso Deluxe in 45-70. I paid $6,800 for it new. I do not have them on a web site so posting here is not possible. I would definitely prefer a 45-70 over the Marlin 444 since the pressures are much lower with the 45-70, many more bullets weights are available, and the available bullets are designed for rifle velocities. I am trying to develop appropriate loads for the Hornady 350 grain round nose at 1,900 fps using Varget powder. My rifle was hand regulated with Federal 300 grain factory loads, 1,880 fps, by the factory, and they use real targets not barrel lasers. The regulation target ships with the rifle as it should.

So from whom did you purchase your rifle? Who imports the Siace into the US?

Thanks

Bill, I bought it from Larry Friedman in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He is lbf on the gunbroker.com site. Do a search under Siace there and he will come up as he has a Siace shotgun currently listed. My rifle was imported by Kebco as this is etched on the water table as required by import laws. He was a great person to deal with. I sent him a cashiers check on a Monday, and my rifle arrived the next day here in Denver at M. W. Reynolds! Also check Mark's site at mwreynolds.com. Mark is also a fantastic person to deal with.
