I am going to Zim in August and cannot find 20 round ammo boxes for my 500/416. I have never fired factory ammo so I have no boxes, Midway is at a loss, Gander Mt. and Sportsmans warehouse here do not have anything. Is there somewhere I can find some factory 470 boxes and relabel them (I need 3), or what do you guys use or suggest? Thanks Mike

Just use MTM plastic ammo boxes. There's no legal requirement that they be labelled and there's no legal requirement that they be factory loads.
There is a legal requirement that ammo be packed in cases that keep every round seperated from every other round. - So the MTM boxes are fine for that. Some airlines also require that those ammo boxes also be packed into a metal, lockable container...... this isn't a legal requirement, it's an internal regulation, but you need to check that with your airline.
The other legal requirement is that you take no more than 5 Kgs of ammo per passenger.
Hope that helps

Use an MTM caseguard plastic box big enough for NE ammo.
I then lock with a padlock into a small cheap plastic toolbox and stick that in my duffel bag.
Try this thread to for 20 round boxes: Ammo Boxes

MTM make a great 10 round "BIG GAME AMMO WALLET" that suits 404, 416, 465, 470NE and 500N type calibers which I can highly recommend. Cost approx $20. Product code# BUF-10-70 BROWN.

I have used the ammo box that cabelas sells, has room for 11 pounds and is lockable and light, plastic.Holds all the ammo boxes without too much spare room, and has foam packing. I did have the locks , latches pulled away on a trip to alberta canada, by inspectors, so maybe tsa type locks?

As to a locked case --I am using a Swarovski case I got with a pair of EL's I bought a couple years ago...for the actual ammo itself I would think Huntingtons should be able to fix you up..I use regular plastic ammo boxes that hold 20 in each for my 300 U-Mag and .416 --did that the past 3 trips and will use it again when I leave--so far..no questions or problems..
