Bow and crossbow hunting are both legal in Portugal.
Is it the same where you live?

no. crossbows are banned, so possion of one gives you 30 days in jail.

bows are cool though, although you have to do a really hard test, to be allowed to hunt with them.

best regards

peter

Our exams here are also though, with theorical and practical tests. The theorical test is the same for bows or crossbows but you only get the permission for the weapon you use in the shooting test.
By the way, I don't find crossbows particularly interesting and I have never owned one although I have shot them occasionally

Crossbow is legal here during special crossbow season and for hunters with disabilties or injuries. I have the Excalibur Equinox and love it. Excalibur has a great website with video feeds to guide you from the shipping carton to the field. Also include a DVD. I had never shot a crossbow, strung one, or seen anyone shoot one! I still havent! I got mine last october and harvested a wild tirkey and a whitetail last fall. I have read other forums and talked to alot of people and i highly reccomend Excalibur. I sure am glad i didnt get a compound type crossbow. I believe simple is better. The Equinox is very powerful and accurate.
