Maple on a squirrel rifle isn't bad, this one is a bit big for sqirrels though...

Interesting that Lon Paul is creating the provenance of this rifle rather than Lott himself.
I also have a former Lott gun, but I also know without paperwork from Lott, it is largely considered hearsay as to it's history.
Looks like a lightly used or restored gun.
It is a great gun in terms of styling and execution, the wood is the only letdown for me. Not sure of the strength of birdseye maple for a heavy recoil rifle - maybe fine.

Thats not proof of provenance in my book! Anyone can photocopy a letterhead and signature. If an original letter exists, i.e. the original that was photocopied for the letterhead and signature, THAT is the provenance, not this fake.

Jack would have a hard time do a written history of the rifle, being dead and all.

I know he is dead! I assume he wasn't dead when he sold it to Paul though... But as stated above, there is NO established provenance on this gun.
I doubt, too, that Lott would have had a phony square bridge built up for a personal gun rather than use an original SB action. I may be wrong...
