That is even better looking than "Twin Peaks" Alice.

How well does it return to zero after take down and travel...?

Who cares...? Its gorgeous...everything about it looks just right!

To be honest, I really don't know at this point. I have had two range sessions with it, using the takedown case for transport to and from the range both times. After the intial sighting in at 50 yards on the first trip, it held its zero for the second trip. That's with me shooting the open sights. I took the scope off (wonderful claw mounting system by Duane) and haven't put it back on yet.

The takedown system and lock up is very positive. I don't think it could vary hardly enough to tell, at least not at ranges this rifle will be used for. It has a very positive stop and metal mating faces. The lockup lever and screw are strong are have zero play.

But... I haven't shot it enough to make any great statements of fact.

Ray,
Ten pounds isn't light for that caliber. Granted it is on the lighter side, but certainly not light. The weight should fall between 10 and 11 pounds, depending primarily upon barrel length.

Also, what is with the doom and gloom warnings. Life is short and you know it.

You are right about the head aches though, when one starts it is time to stop shooting.

Scott

DP That is one beautiful takedown rifle you have. Great workmanship, I agree with Ray about the weight. My 500 is 13+ and I don't get headaches with it. My motto is " better heavy than light for the big bores".

See your gunsmith about adding about 2 lbs to the rifle.

Dak
