Serial number range pertaining to salt wood FN mausers???
      #100624 - 28/03/08 12:24 PM

Hello everyone,

I saw a very nice FN mauser action rifle in 30-06 at a local gun shop and was wondering if I could get some insights as to what serial number rifles had salt wood stocks. Thanks

I thought the salt wood was restricted to Superposed shotguns?

I have only ever heard of Salt Wood stocks being
restricted to Older WEATHERBY's.

Hello Everyone

Here is something I found online from a blog and am pasting it here for reference purposes, I am not sure about the accuracy of this information.

"Yes, Jorge, my 1967 Browning catalog shows Mausers for all grades of the Safari through the Olympian, but I have a 1967 with a Sako action, too. Browning also used salt cured wood from 1966 through 1972, but a lot of the rifles don't have that, either."

THANKS
