just got my first recurve bow need help geting started what arrow weight do i need for hog and deer hunting it is a pse impala draw weight is 45 pounds

No but some of my friends do and are quite successful at it. Bernards' bow is a very hi speed bow and has been used on everything up to Elephant. I couldn't imagine hunting Elephant with a bow and arrow. I always always been intrigued by them I must admit.

Richard, as you know elephants are hunted at archery distances so it sure can be done! I took my one and only at 12 yards, though with a rifle! While waiting for the ele to step back from the brush I noticed I had a totally clear heart shot had I been armed with a bow.

Besides the draw weight you need to check you draw lenght in order to choose the right shafts. I'll be more than glade to share information, it will remind me of some great times. I always shot traditional bows, either in competition or hunting.
