That rear sight is fantastic how the aperture is adjusted within the sight body!
Very cool!

send the pics to a friend in czechia who collect old bohemian made guns because it falls into his area. he write me back that he was the second bidder on this years ago and be happy it still exist but it dont become cheaper over the time - quite the opposite

the design is typical for old german airguns and also came into the united states by german gunmakers. before the great war they were made most notably by Oskar Will Venuswaffenwerk in Zella St. Blasii, since 1919 connected with Mehlis into Zella Mehlis near Suhl
here is typical Kurbelspanner https://forum.vintageairgunsgallery.com/spring-piston-crank-wound-airguns/o-will-kurbelspanner/

the design was later simplified by adding a lever like this one

https://egun.de/market/item.php?id=8223315#

from time to time I get lust to by such a airgun

the dream of a boy's gun, would like to see how it works: LANGENHAM, GERMANY
A RARE .177 & 9mm (FLOBERT) BREAK-BARREL CONVERTIBLE AIR-RIFLE, MODEL 'ARBENZ PATENT GEM', serial no. 10413,
circa 1910, with smooth-bore .177 insert inside the smooth-bore 17 3/4in. two-stage blued shot-barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the dolls-head locking latch, the top-flat of barrel signed 'PATENT' with the Langenham crossed pistol trade-mark and 'GEM No. 10413', the left hand upper flat marked 'ARBENZ'S PATENT', the breech-face marked '13 20673 95' on the barrel section, the air-chamber face with floating firing pin and marked '73', two exposed tabs for inner barrel removal and a further wing-nut on the right hand side possibly for pin replacement, slanted nickel-plated air-chamber, walnut butt-stock, semi crescent plated heel-plate, plated cocking link forming the trigger-guard (link pin poor replacement) and much original finish remaining
https://auctions.holtsauctioneers.com/as...5&saletype=

must be a air gun but how do it work with the the 9 mm Flobert rimfire?

Lancaster, Much to my surprize I do not find the Selous plates to be uncomfortable on my G Gibbs in 303, (obviously re barrelled from something more interesting), even in the 40 deg C temperatures here in France, I am sure this is due to the fact that the plates are very thin, and closely fitted the stock , I have not yet tested them in sub zero temperatures. Stay safe! Chris B.

Appears to me to be a similar flavour, however I think it is a "one-off" gun designed and 'custom' made, likely in a German or Austrian shop.
It is also similar (idea) to some of Billinghurst Harmonica-actions of the percussion period in the USA.
Quite an interesting design and operation, with the shotgun chamber sliding sideways to be in line with the action and butt stock.

Oberhammer in Munich had an "DRGM" on this construction or parts. This "DRGM" was granted in July 1896. The title referred to a "military rifle with a shot barrel underneath". But - this system of the gun i bought i have never seen as military system. Oberhammer was able to manufacture weapons himself, so I assume that the weapon was made in his workshop. As you can see in the link rifles like these from Oberhammer are known- but with the Mauser98 System.

Regarding these little rifles what is the function of the spring mounted on the left side of the action.

That is the non-selective ejector spring, unlike on a quality double gun, these rook rifles eject the spent case or unfired cartridge every time the gun is opened up.

Going back to the Oberhammer combination #344744......

So, the riddle continues .....

Chamber cast gives exact the dimensions for the 5,6x52R aka .22 Savage High Power. But - this system is too weak for that, only locking over the bolt handle approach. What the hell.......

Was there a European low pressure loading for that round?

Interesting the chamber, 5.6x52R would be for that round, a lever action round of 48,000PSI on pezio, 42,000(crusher) CIP numbers. There are no SAAMI numbers for it listed in the KwK chart.
