By my bro, He build these at the same time, and documented the build on the ALR forum. I have his blessings to re-print these pictures here.

What caliber is the percussion. Double wedges always catch my eye.

Daryl,
I've said it before and I will say it again. Your brother is very talented!
Both are beautiful.
I really like the attention to detail. The flat grip trigger guard on the fliter is correct for the early hawkins style.

The 1/2 stock is a .62, .50 for the full stock.
The Flinter's lock plate was plain, like the cap lock when Taylor received it. He turned it into an Ashmore with the appropriate carving and sculpture.

The lock was on a different full stock flint Hawken that went through a fire.
Taylor re-hardened and tempered the springs and frizzen and left the colour as recovered from the ashes.

Also - the cap lock's stock took the aqua-fortis from the same bottle, quite differently than the full stock. Both are finished literally, identically, yet the cap lock's stock is so much darker.

Stunning is putting it too mildly.

Daryl; I have a Hawken that your brother built back in the early 80's I believe. Still my favourite front stuffer. It won a Gold medal some years ago for the previous owner at the B.C. summer games. It's a 54 cal. Al

Glad you have it, Al. I have only two of his rifles - the A.Verner my second. We built my .69 back in 1986. He did all the work and I finish sanded and put on it's finish. LOL
He's built a few English guns, one with interchangeable barrels, a .54 and .40 for a fellow in Kansas, as well as a little English rook rifle for the same man - who insisted on rotting all 3 barrels with Pyrodex.
I think the Ferguson he built for the missionary in Belgium is back in Canada again, but on the East Coast. It's a wonderful piece, but I only have a couple pictures of it. Fun to shoot too.

If you click on this picture, you should be able to scan through this folder for other guns Taylor has built, by using the arrow keys at the side.

SRY- I don't know anything about that, Al. Maybe it's some sort of a browser robber or tracking program.

I would not click on the lucky winner url.

Maybe it's something to do with Safari & mac?

For me, it allows me to go through the whole folder - 4 pages?
