I would pay 950 for a straight stocked version.

I second Bulldog 563's suggestion. I would pay $ 950 for a conventional stocked version in 9.3x62.

New_Guy,

Any idea what the full blown custom ones would cost? The Damascus barreled ones etc? I am coming to a point where I shall be ordering what would probably be the only custom rifle in my life and I am looking at various options. It would be nice to know...

mehulkamdar - I will find out about the upgraded versions; including the damascus barrel and engraving.

I doubt I would bring in a great deal of these for distribution to the masses, but if you guys are interested...

email me at info@heymusa.com

and I'll put together a list to see how many we can come up with for an order... assuming the ATF can decide how to classify them of course.

Do you have pictures of the upgraded version?

Bulldog 563,

The Brno website no longer lists their custom guns but the member whose ID is MacNaughton is their UK dealer now and he has posted some of the old catalogue pictures here.

Needless to say they also offer straight stocked versions of the rifles as they are full customs and the Damascus patterns are offered in both gold and black and silver and black contrast, again to order only. Not sure what the pricing is going to be for the full customs but I am saving up for one custom rifle for myself and if it falls within my budget this may be an option. I'll never be able to afford to hunt in Africa and I need a rifle with which I could hunt here in the USA and in India in the future.

Cheers!

Hey Newguy.... What happened to this deal?... I seem to be running into difificulties in my classic Mauser 9.3 quest. And now find myself looking at one of these VZ's in 9.3X62 with open sights, then asking Judson to reshape the stock..

Sorry, didn't mean to leave you guys hanging.

The company is undergoing new management/ownership and/or something to that effect.

I spoke to them last week and they hope to know more next month. It sounds like the company isn't actually selling anything until this change of power. But I do know they've got inventory to ship... probably just some red tape holding up this interim period.

I should know more in a few weeks.

Sometimes I forget to check here, so if you're interested please emial me so I've got your info stored where I can find it.

Also, please check and see if actions only or barreled actions will be offered. I think actions only would be of great appeal to the US market.

Don

Don - they've made it clear that they will only sell complete rifles.

Adam,

Thanks for the link. Sadly, what it suggests - that only the Brno custom line would be offered in the US - means that I shall not be able to afford to buy one. But for those who could afford to buy them, the Damascus barreled bolts are absolutely stunning pieces of the gunmaker's craft.

Cheers!

Do you have a picture?

New Guy, can you shed any light on this development?

This is the first I've heard of the sale, but it doesn't surprise me. It was no secret that the old BRNO company was not doing well.

Hopefully this is good for a better selection of "mauser" actions on the market.
