Here is a 275 or 7*57 rigby for sale in Norway, a bit more plain than the first one here though. 4700 euros or 6000 us dollars.

This rifle sold at Widforss auction in Sweden a couple of years back. It went for 19000 SEK, which is about 2800 USD. Its provenance tells that it belonged to a French big game hunter in Central Africa.

Thanks MFC, I have to give credit to my friend Pjaln here on the forum who has held my hand throughout the process with advice and opinions - thanks paul...

This one should turn out great, the H&H side mount is due mid november and then he will start on the stock.

Hi Alex,

You will find attached some photos of the completed H&H style scope mount for the Kahles scope.
It was quite a challenge as we have to make all parts from scratch...
The scope is perfectly aligned and the mount shut and bolt like a vault.
The next stage being the wood work, I need to know your definitive choice about the stock design.
What do you prefer: beaded cheekpiece or like original Rigby without cheekpiece ?
How about the grip: rounded Rigby style or capped pistol grip ?
For the buttplate that’s Ok for a slim English red soft pad.
I wait for your comments asap.

Best regards.

Dear Axel,

The stock of your southpaw .275 Rigby rifle is now finished and the rifle has been assembled in the white for sight regulating.
As you will notice, we have modified the front sight and barrel swivel bases to a lightened fitting look.
In the same manner, on such a light recoil caliber, I have chosen to fit a slim leather covered butt pad instead of the planned thick red Silver's.
Indeed with your choices of a steel caped pistol grip and H&H style side scope mount, the rifle, while "Old English" fashioned, is not of true Rigby pattern, being more a D&D interpretation of that kind of light stalking rifle.
The rear stock benefit of a slight 6mm cast on and the trigger has been bent and contoured for left hand grip.
The French walnut don't show dramatic figure as usually does a Turkish blank, but to my eyes it's better appropriated to the rifle and with a very good and dense grain flow, it will withstand more abuse.
Next step will be the hand engraving of the markings, some touches of ornamental engraving on the fittings before slow rust bluing …but it's another story !

Best regards.

I Like.

Top looking rifle. The timber in the stock to my eye is great.
