US gun imports
      #207990 - 03/05/12 03:28 PM

Heard a rumor that the "acting" US president just Signed the paper stopping the import of the guns for good. Is this true?

WTF? I hope this is not true

OK , its not all imports , Just imports from South Korea. The M1 Garands.

The communist negro in the white house signed a paper to stop S. Korean Imports into America.

Why did he do that ?

Singling out one country's imports, what is it going to achieve ?

From what I have read, the S. Korean government wants to sell about 1 million WW2 era M-1s and other rifles to American collectors. These are guns that have been warehoused for 5 decades. The Obama administration initially approved it, but then reversed course in March. It sounds like it is still being discussed and some kind of deal may be reached.I hope so, as it would be a tragedy for these weapons to be destroyed.

Plenty of other countries would love to get their hands on them but the US probably has a veto over them.

Collectors in every country.

People who just want to own one, shoot one.

They are good rifles, after all.

They reversed the decision again and are allowing the import.

ME, I am one of the few lucky South Africans who own a M1 Garand and still regularly use it. Both my children started their hunting careers with it.

I'm not a big fan of the M1 Garand but I'd like to have some of the M1 Carbines the Korean's want to sell.

When I had a 35 cal rifle, I was using M1Carbine once fired brass for bullet jacketes - trim to length, fill with lead, close the nose in a pistol sizing die (can't remember which one, now, done - 250 to 320gr. round nose bullets. I liked the Carbine - brass - have a few thousand rounds of it still, once fired.
