I viewed this video and wondered what this strange Mannlicher is. It was called a Mannlicher-Schoenauer GK but, that doesn't appear to be the case to me. What is it?

Looks more like Huzagol M35 which has been converted to M-S style.

FEG, Budapest, makers of the Huzagol 35 and the 98-40 military rifles, built some sporting rifles on these actions post WW2. Unknown in the west before the fall of the iron courtain, such rifles are usually mistaken as Mannlicher-Schoenauers, just like the Hungarian speaking guy in the video did. These actions were developed from the "Mannlicher", in fact Louis Schlegelmilch's basic action, but cock on closing and combined with a Mauser type box magazine.

It seems there is always more to be learned regarding der Mannlicher Schoenauer.

Thanks fellows, I've never seen one of those before. I wonder if the cock on closing would be beneficial in a M-S?
I find the bolt to be hard to run from the shoulder with the M-S unless the stock is shortened to reduce the reach to the handle. Of course, it can be dropped from the shoulder without problems but, I prefer to keep it mounted.

I tend to flip the bolt upward with my forefinger ('index finger'), then run it back in a continuous motion. To close I push forward with thumb and it snaps closed smartly as my hand takes position to fire.

I'm a six footer with fairly long arms, though. The MS' length of pull is just right for me if not a tad short.
