I have scaned some of the text too,as there are very funny stories.




I think these are the Humming-birds Lord Walsingham shot for Natural History Museum in London,here is a photo myself at the Museum.

Fascinating!

Macdonald Hastings writes that the Marquis of Ripon's 500,000 critters were shot prior to his ceasing to keep records in 1913. When did he quit shooting, and when did he die?

Damn! A 'revised and enlarged edition'...!

Looks like I'm going to have to buy that one too!
(My current copy is dated August 1978, rather dog-eared these days!)

That's a great read! I brought that book with me to Argentina, and it went round and round between 12 of us. All of us enjoyed it.
