hi all

Today i was just sitting at the computer slaving away, when i noticed, that i deserved a lunchbreak the weather was nice and sunny temp. 15 dgr. thats around 56 farenheit and a slight breeze from the east.
i convinced niicky that enough was enough, so we should go and train sako for an hour or so.
i grabed the adams just for the fun of it and of we went.



well the birds were there, actually all over the place.



nice point



up up and away



nice crowd, but to young



he is staying like he should



just enjoying a small rest, damn life is good



back to work and point



nice work, and it is just opening season



still young, not full feather



one for the pot, and to him for doing a great job



got it



good dawg nice work

Today i went on one part of the field only 3,5 hektar(10 acre) and we raised and counted 75-80 pheasant and 25 partrigde. it seems like the start of a fun year...

I'm envious, Peter! Personally I can't hunt during my lunch-break (I work in the city) but I can fish! It's great to take a break when you feel the need.

thank you for the kind words, i will let the praise for the photo work go to my wife and you will get a pic of her as well as soon as i can get that butt ugly italian o/u away from her

marrakai i think it is good that we envy each other a bit every now and then, the airtravel fee seems like a nessary expence to play with like minded friends all over the globe. allthough i seem to recall that you are in the hot and humid season now, wich if you dont mind i will let you keep for yourself. im not that good with heat.

a buisness partner of mine is coming down tommorow morning, and we are going to have a walk up with the aid of sako again. i will see if i can bring camera and niicky with us as well.

tommorow is for hare mostly in the newly planted forest they just need to go before they eat my trees.

I can. But alas no pheasant or partridge/grouse. Peter's story made me think about seeding some (? Don't sure if that is legal - will have to check )

In fact just finished Sunday lunch, need to change irrigation taps so will take the CZ .22 Mag for a walk. I know there is a nice big hare living in that block plus more than a handful of rabbits.

Snuck out last evening for a magpie goose at Harrison Dam, but not many birds were flying. Only 2 skein passed over my position within range, before dark. Missed clean with both barrels on the first lot (my first shots for the season) but pulled myself together for a 'right and left' on the next lot.

Just treated my visitors to a feed of Cajun Goose a couple of hours ago. Yummm!

im really growing fond of these small trips, like tonight is the first night with sub zero temps.
so the woodcocks will proberly be at the small marsh i got, i love and hate to hunt those birds.
love it because the dogwork really can be a thing of pure heaven, hate it because i tend to shoot in zig when the bird is in zag.

These little jaunts put me in mind of the bush that I have available to me only a 10 minute drive south of my home ,,,,, without fail when I approach a bend in the river that borders one of the trails I kick up at least 20 ducks that raft in a small quiet pool. the problem is that if i go with Bosco there is no chance in hell of getting off a shot.... there is only one lane to shoot and its straight downriver and very narrow. He aoids water for the most part but he wades in at this area everytime we pass it.... just cant get enough of that scent that they leave behind.

We pushed a doe and fawn the other day while walking the bush and Bosco was beside himself was good full bodied doe too...but I still havent been in the tree stand, the weather has been unseasonably warm for this time of the year,,,,, yesterday we set another record high,,, was 91 F and as humid as hell... it should be in the mid 50's to the mid 60's .... cant wait for that weather,,,, enough of summer for me bring on the North wind!

Also have seen a great many racoon tracks.... will be sticking one or two of them to a tree in the very near future with my cross bow.
