The Ungulates are very good jumpers. That hog surprised me.

I know from my mostly 90% tame fallow deer that on a run in a panic they can jump a 8 foot fence, or knock one down. Seen it happen thankfully not at my place though.

But did have a wild buck who jumped into my fenced paddocks to join the "girls" jumped out at least three times, and back in again, and also changed paddocks as he felt like it.

Another buck used to clear 7 to 8 feet fences from a squat, no run up required.

Both are now venison, or long since, but would be good genes for wild deer.

That's a fantastic kazoo band playing in the background.

Shame You call it a kazoo.
It's a "fanfare", a sound warning indicating the going of the hunt, from the peep of the day to the retour of the hounds to the kennel.

sound warnings for every circumstances of the hunt

including the "fall off a horse "la culbute en foret"
Created when no one had a cell phone.
You'd better know all of them before taking part of it.

tradition my friend, just as in Your country.

Larcher,

You are a gentleman, in your place if someone had insulted French hunting culture like that I'd have retaliated by mentioning Morris Dancing.

If any of you don't know about the English custom of Morris Dancing........ Good!

It does tend to involve a consumption of copious quantities of beer. And that was what I told the judge the only time I tried doing it.

Morris Dancing as described by Edmund Blackadder: Morris dancing is the most fatuous, tenth-rate entertainment ever devised by man. Forty effeminate blacksmiths waving bits of cloth they've just wiped their noses on. How it's still going on in this day and age I'll never know.
