Any thoughts or experience of Hungarian Wirehaired Vizlas? As I understand it, a Vizla cross GWP possibly with some pointer/bloodhound somewhere in the past...

the HWV to my knowlegde (i have only seen a few working) are like the GWP except that they are not as hard as the german breeds and do point a bit better than the GWP. as far as i can see exellent dog and a great worker.

No worries Peter - thanks for the reply. When you say not as hard, do you mean less stubborn or not as suited to tough conditions etc?

not as hard as in some of the german lines of the GWP needs the following training tools:

boxing gloves

and a 3 foot 4"x4"

to knock some sence into their heads, the training can be a chore to say the least, on the good side they stop for nothing, not even wild boar.
