      #351081 - 04/03/21 03:28 AM

We picked up this little guy a few weeks back to help with moving the cows, etc..

Border coller, Autralian Shepard, etc... mix..

So far, very smart and trainable..

Kids named him Roper...

Good looking pup there Ripp - no wonder he's exhasted your kids will have him run ragged for a month or so - then the boot will be on the other foot!

Cool new little puppy.

A border collie will be a handful of energy. Kids can tie each other out with the puppy.

We always had border collie/kelpie cross breeds as our sheep dogs.

Border collie/kelpies could become obsessive. They love to round things up. One of ours used to bring in our milk cows unaided for milking, sometimes in the middle of the day when not needed. He also used to herd the chickens.

The Border Collie's were for sheep rounding in the paddocks and the kelpie blood for working the yards.

So Ripp, your BC might be good for cattle as well as sheep.

Now I have GSPs. A third little boy here now. I must post photos, when vintage is past or time allows to edit the photos. He is NOT so small already, over four months old, and over 20 kgs, with feet as big or bigger than the 13 year old GSP.

He is a very smart little puppy, sometimes crazy but also capable of unbelievably calm! Sometimes anyway.

HE is headed to the trainer in June --being taught to work cattle.. has been doing a fair job on his own.. already heading off cattle trying to go out the gate when I am feeding.. He is growing like a week.. He also got into a porcupine a couple weeks ago.. fortunately none on the inside of his mouth.. still, he didnt like me removing them with my leatherman tool..
