Just picked up this lovely 450BPE.
No maker's name or stamps anywhere on it but I'd guess it is a Webley built rifle. London prooved.
I really like this one and have wanted a good 450 hammer gun for a while.

Ben,
Really nice: nothing says Classic British like a Jones Underlever Hammer Rifle.
Let's see a full length picture!

Very nice!

Looks slim and handy.
What is the bore/groove and rifling profile?

The barrels are 26”. Steel.
Perfect Enfield type rifling.
One of the features that lead me to think Scott made it is the forend lever.
Weight is 9lb 5oz
Another benefit of it being a no-name rifle is the price.
In order to avoid hate mail, I cannot divulge exactly what that was...

Ok boys, get a rope. There's evidence of thievery. . .

Excellent rifle Huvius in a great calibre - especially as at a good price!

It looks very much to me like a W&C Scott or Philip Webley, both made quality rifles for several of the top retailers, the percussion style fences is frequently found on both makers guns/rifles, as well as the lever fore end release

The medium height hammers and rebounding locks possibly 1880s?

There is a clear space for retailer/maker's name, maybe made on spec? Style and calibre would find a ready market

Good luck shooting it and please give us a report
