Krieghoff Classic question/problem.

I own a nice example of one of these rifles in 9.3. It is scoped and I have used it a fair bit in the field on brumby's and hogs with great success. It has one annoying problem that I am hopeing someone can advise me on.

When I open her to either take the empties out or to load, the barrels do not fall all of the way to the borrom of their arc. As a result the shells foul on the action unless I deliberately push the barrels down the extra few mils. Having to do this increases the reloading time a bit and is an extra (and unnecessary) step in the loading/reloading process.

So.....my questions are - does anybody else have this problem with their Krieghoff or other makes and is this something that can be adjusted out?

Guess my question is ..How new is this gun?? I had a Merkel once that was the same way..as time went on it was getting better,,,however I have since sold it so not sure if it got completely turned around...

I am not a DR mechanic but many doubles, including shotguns, are like that. I copped out on my Krieghoff 470 and sent it back to K (in the USA) to get the opening angle increased. This was particularly annoying in my case as a deliberate effort was needed, not just a nudge.

The bottonline: I don't know how to fix it but it can be. Sorry.

GG: There is a technical fix for this
problem. I am investagating someone
that is qualified to do this for you
in Australia.

I can help there. A Brumby is a wild/feral horse. Sometimes the term Brumby is used to specifically describe a domesticated horse that has been turned loose to fend for itself and not been recaptured for some time, thereby not improving its temperament and increasing the time it takes to 'break in' again.

It can also (whilst drinking alcohol) be used to refer to a female member of the human species. Usually the description improves with the quantity of alcohol consumed.

Thanks to all who answered my post - and especially Ken who went out of his way to find someone who might be able to help me.

Ken, the term brumby can also be used to describe an object that is not 100% healthy. For example a car could be termed "a brumby" if it is mechanically unreliable etc. I like tophet 1's description tho...........!!
