Did I miss it or did you not say who is building your rifle?

Mick,

Don't get all excited. The conversion of the shotgun (not a build) is just being done by the local smith/repair shop. Getting myself an expensive double is just not in the cards.

So far the barrels have been soldered into the sleeves and chambered. It goes off when the trigger (singular!) is pulled. Of course lots more to do: make the quarter rib, extractors, the ribs, set the sights, blue, etc. And all the regulating. It presently weighs about 7.3 lbs. It will probably wind up weighing about 8 1/2 lbs. I was hoping for less.

It will be a single selective trigger w/ejectors. Not a WR but it will be what I want. If I skip a day's visit my position on the priority pole slips. Not holding my breath for completion anytime soon.

Sounds cool. I saw a pretty neat conversion from a 28 gauge Sabbati to a 33 Winchester the other day. It also had a single selective trigger. Owner claimed it shot 3" at 100 yards and loved the trigger. I did ask if he had ever used it, selectively, and he said no.

It was built by some guy in Idaho. Can't remember the name but seemed like a neat rifle. They had a lot of trouble with the regulation. He said it took about 100 rounds to dial it in. The 'smith ended up making a jig from a picture in a book to finally get it correct.

Will, are the barrels only soldered into the block, or are they partially threaded as well?

Mac,

They are just soldered. These guys make their living soldering (Simmons Gun Repair - ventilated ribs) so I figure they have done a good job of it. They do a lot of re-sleeving of barrels and magazine tubes so this must be old hat to them.

The ribs and quarter ribs are going to be the biggest headaches I suppose. The guy had a piece of steel stock the other day to make the quarter rib.

I have to keep reminding myself to have patience.

It is the single trigger (and light weight) that I am after.
