600 NE on Zabala?

Would a 10 gauge Zabala be the right place to start a 600 NE project? Any opinions? Has anyone here built one?

As long as the 600 is the proper weight there no big deal to shoot. All of mine are between 14.2 -15.4lbs.

Thanks for the advice, are there any suitable actions out there for conversion to 600NE?

I know a gunsmith in Colorado (David Yale) that made a 1920's era Rigby best sidelock ejector 12 bore into a large calibre double and according to him his client has taken much game with it.

Also I would contact Ken Owen and ask what he recommends before pursuing an action.

I certainly would not entertain that. The 2 left hand actions are 450/400 + Rising Bite Rifle actions. The right hand one is a 12 G. It may stand up as the Rising Bite is probably the strongest action made, however, the 12G frame was never intended to dissipate the amount of energy produced by a .600NE.

Custom made action. Not sure any action in the marketplace
could be converted.

Suggest you take the advice of the others and stay away LOL.

Or a single shot LOL

In a word, NO! A 600 Nitro is too much gun to be trying to build on a Zabala shotgun frame.

The Zabal will work just fine, BUT, not for a full up .600 nitro case. I am having exactly the same thing done on my Z, but will be using 20 gauge brass, and reduced loads of about 75% of a full nitro
