WTS - Heym 7mm Mauser sporting rifle

F.W. Heym 7mm Mauser sporting rifle ser. # 5817 AH (possibly made in 1930s to 1940s)

The rifle is in superb condition including the bore. Weight is approx. 7 lbs. Barrel is 21 15/16 " from front of receiver. Trigger to butt plate is 13 1/2 ". Overall length is 43 1/8" . There is Lyman 48 receiver sight on military action with thumb cutout and magazine charging slot. Steel grip cap and metal engraved/checkered buttplate with trap door. Silver shield in stock, finely checkered pistol grip and forearm, small schnabel forend, barrel mounted sling swivel. 5817 AH stamped on Krupp marked barrel and receiver ring. 5817 is written in barrel channel. No rust, pitting or signs of abuse. Marked F.W. Heym Suhl on barrel in front of receiver. Floor plate is engraved Fr. Wilh. Heym Suhl - Germany. Very pretty rifle with well figured walnut stock.

After additional research and discourse with others...it now appears that this Heym was made during the WW II US occupation of Germany. Additionally it does have a Timney trigger. Shoots well with 175 gr factory loads.
