Wanted to buy. .30 Rem brass.
      #209783 - 01/06/12 09:19 PM

Gentlemen.
I am seeking some .30 Rem brass, if anyone has any surplus to requirements. And if not surplus, any that you could stand to part with.
There don't seem to be any available from importers or retailers here in Australia and the guys that I found to have them in the US won't export.
Does not have to be a large quantity. Any count would be helpfull.

Even some .32 Rem or similar that I can neck down or up.

I was hoping to avoid that. Getting the extractor groove correct may be a pain.

I found loaded ammo at Midway USA. No brass though. Might have to buy factory ammo and shoot it to get the brass.

What about .35 Remington brass. Not sure if it is a matter of necking down or if the case is a totally different size.

I used to have a Marlin .35 Rem Lever gun about ten years ago(model 336 i think - same as the 30-30 but in .35 Rem).

I have about 60 - 80 empty cases once or twice fired (and 35 Rem dies).

Don't know why i kept them after i sold the rifle (the buyer didn't want them????). anyway if you or anyone else wants them....

cheers
Dan

Disregard - looking at the sizes of the two, i don't think you'll be able to use them

Just had a look at CoW book. You're right, they are different.

Thanks for the thought.

I did.
But the rifle did not fit me at all. So ended up being sold again.

I do like the cartridge though.

Lancaster- spot-on. Turning the rim off and cutting a new extractor groove would be a 7 to 10 second job per case, job with a tool ground to do that work. Plunge in, back out, touch with a bit of abrasive paper and done.

I have some .30, .25 and .32 cases but if you sold it, you do not need them anymore, am I right?
