North Fork Bullets are no more...
      #93178 - 02/01/08 03:08 AM

This is from a post by Allen Day on another forum.

A couple of weeks ago, Mike Brady gave me a call and informed me that he had made the decision to get out of the bullet making business and pursue other opportunities. He asked me to keep this decision under my hat until after the first of the year.

This is very unfortunate, since Mike's North Fork bullet line was and is some of the most accurate and best-performing true premium big game bullets that has ever been produced, and North Fork bullets have a stellar reputation in Africa and with everyone who has used them on big game anywhere.

I've still got a supply of North Fork solids and softs for my 416 Rem. Mag., enough to get me by for this year's hunting, certainly, but that's about it.

A lot of hunters are going to be extremely disappointed over this decision, but I'm sure that Mike is doing what's best for his future at this point, and I wish him only the best in all that he does. He's a straight player who has always played straight with me, and he has my thanks and my respect for being a man of skill and integrity.

I'd love to see some other established company (Hornady, etc.) acquire North Fork, because it's simply too good a product to die..........

That's a damn shame.

I have a few hundred NF bullets in a couple of calibers, but would have liked to have more. I'll have to use the ones I have sparingly.

I wish Mike the best, as he's been a very decent guy judging by the e-mail contact I've had with him.

Erik

That IS a real shame. Lets hope that he sells rather than just shuts up shop because it would be a shame if his bullet design became completely unavailable

Mega bummer. I shoot the .458-350 FP in my nitro for black load in my 500/450 DR. I can only imagine that the competition in premium bullets was too much to make a living as a boutique bullet maker. You see, everyone is now offering bonded bullets.

Today I was able to order a large number of NF bullets from the stock our local importer had. Enough to last me a decade of hunting.

I think he is one and the same. But I'm not 100% sure.

The importer here also said some time ago that .404 bullets did not excist even though they were on NF `s web page. I think i must hear with them if they have some 275 grain .358 bullets in the inventory .

Sorry to see that they are closing. A good product i have wanted to try , but should have bought them previously .
