Great find. I only just re-read the book a month ago after several years. An interesting read about a time in the early history of East Africa.

I agree, I read the book a couple times as a kid, had an excellent HS library, and just recently picked up a new (Capstick reprint) copy and read it again. I like the part at the end of the book on outfitting a hunt there, now if I can just get my Way Back Machine to work......

I think the mounts in the Field Museum are generating more interest in the past few years, maybe due to the movie?, than they did back in the 60's and early 70's when I saw them a few times. Grew up in Chicago, but escaped in the later 70's. Took the kids back there to visit family last summer, but unfortunately weren't able to get down to the Museum as I hoped to.
