When i was a kid my father use to have one these water bags on the front of his Land Rover on a frame but he took if off eventually ,because he said if he drove into town people would steal them

We used to use them on the farm too. We had a sheep property an hour's drive away, across the range in the Murray Flats area. The water bags used to be a nice way to have a cool drink in hot dusty places.

They can still be purchased if one looks hard enough. Hopefully still of original quality.

Horses on safari, something many like to do nowadays, game viewing on horse. Would need 'salted' horses in Tsetse Fly country. But is it unusual? No. Many hunts in old Kenya were by horse, especially for lion.

When I hunted with Pierre van Wyk in the Gwayi Valley in Zimbabwe, he discussed desiring a Marlin "Game Gun" (or whatever it is called) in .45/70, the shortened version of the standard lever action, for carrying in a scabbard when doing horse safaris.

An experience when travelling in Africa is to actually visit a market. Too many just go hunting, getting picked up and dropped off at the airport with no real knowledge of the real Africa.

It can be very enjoyable and a different experience to visit an African market or any market in the Third World. Visiting the fresh meat section can make one feel like becoming a vegetarian. BUZZ BUZZ, get it?
