Writing to Nosler will help. Or a phone call. They assure me that they are going to make them, but they only make them now and then because the demand is not too high. I think if letters go into their office they will see the demand is higher then they think.

Norma factory load are only 2,050fps with 285 gr. bullets. They acknowledge 34,000cup or 40,000PSI for this ammo.

This is a bit ridiculous, even for a model 94 or 96. I loaded 45.0gr. H4895 with sized down 300gr. for 2,170fps in my Husky M46. These showed 0 case WEB expansion from FL: sized brass and of course zero head expansion as well.

I loaded the 270's with 48.0gr. H4895 for approx. 2,260fps going by memory only, with 50.0gr. BLC2 and those same 270gr. bullets at 2,300fps. These also showed 0 expansion.

I am certain 47.0gr. would be OK with 285gr. bud did not test them past 45.0gr. which ran 2,200fps, considerably better than factory Norma ammo.

Norma noted they loaded to 40,000PSI(34,000CUP), although the same rifles were chambered for 6.5x55 at 55,000PSI and 8x57 Mauser at 57,000psi along with 9.3x62's also at 57,000psi.

I loaded 232gr. Normal Vulcans along with sized down 235gr. Hornadys with 56.0o9grt. BLC2 at 2,450fps and same load for 2,550-fps with sized down 225gr. Hornadys. Again, 0 web expansion - THAT's the expansion ring that is supposed to show expansion - yet - sub .001" when normal would be .003" to .008" depending on the chamber.

All of these loads gave sub MOA in my rifle, which was made in 1929.

In a model 98 Mauser, this 9.3x57 round would quite likely match 1930's 9.3x62 ammo, if loaded with today's superior powders. That would be just over 2,300fps with 286's or 285's - easily 2,250fps.
