My first 7mm Rem Mag !

To be honest the cartridge didn't matter it was the wood. (my weakness)

Bought this very late New Haven M 70 Super Grade from a real gentleman gathered around the glowing embers.

It is ANNB with a real M 70 trigger, great polish and blue, wonderful wood and he even tossed in a classic Buchiemer quality case at no charge !

7x57s, 7x61s but this is a first. More dies and cases to buy. Time to move my 270 WCF M70 BOSS down the road.

Before any "expert" sounds off about the non inletted swivel studs, this variation has been full vetted and documented by the Winchester Collectors group.

Very nice buy and certainly worth it for the wood although no flies on the 7mmRM cartridge. If you have had, or have a 7x61 (S&L?) then the Rem Mag is in good company. Barrel length is 26" too?

Be interested in the performance you get out of it.

The 7mm.mag is my favourite caliber.From wild bore to nilgai to ibex all one shot kills at long distance.

Thanks all. Never owned a 70 that would not shoot 1" which is way more than "minute of" any big game I'll ever shoot.

Sad to say sold all my Schultz and Larsens ( 2 7x61 S&H, 308 Norma, 30-06, 378 WM and 264 WM) but am looking hard for another 65DL or 68 in 7x61 S&H.

Used to be everyone was dumping them but apparently people have learned that rear locking lugs work just fine.
