I love the little fellow. He looks like a bundle of energy and trouble.

Waidmannsheil on the stag and hind(?).

Calling him Hydro, have you negotiated a sponsorship deal with Geoff MacDonald? Ha ha. Joking

I think I need a couple of GSP pups, a male Rigby, and a female Purdey. I've got a WR, so maybe a female Westley, and a male Richard. I can tell out when hunting "WESTLEY RICHARD!!!"

Thanks for the pics.

Nice little Bows, too. I like 4 weights, but picked up a 3 for small streams. I haven't used it yet.
I might try it casting bows while anchored in the pre-river shallows next summer.

I'm not a fisherman but may have to take it up one-day.

But what is an "owt"? Slang for a small trout?

I don't know some of the fish, but some grand fish caught.

Which ones are the best eating? Trout though bony is renowned but what about the others? Murray Cod? "Metery"? That's a huge fish. The stream does look deep enough? What's a big fish like that to eat?

I'll have to dig out my fishing books when I find them. I've never really fished, probably because few fresh water fishing here. Coastal and the Murray. the Territory was fun. Victoria had lots of water.

Well done Mick and the guys. Thanks for posting.

I don't want to be annoying. But I'd there any way a non Territory resident can get on the program allowing hunting/culling there? I believe a night course is needed plus? Any website with info? Please PM me. Thanks.

I'd make an annual trip up there too.

0 wt is the size of the fly line/ gear used. 00 , 0wt being smallest , 12-14 largest. 12wt is for large saltwater species. 0wt twig water tiny streams. 5-6, large rivers or dams for larger trout.
Murray cod have a slot limit 55-75cm legal to take. Never eaten one so can't comment on what their like to eat. Keep trout occasionally. Ok but prefer Redfin.

Hunt with or be a NT resident

Book in 7 days in advance admin fee and day fee.
The hunt with or NT resident is a very good idea as country is hard and conditions later in the year are extreme.
Lots of experience and or Km's are required for success!

00 and 0 WOW - those are light. Even 1's to 3's are very light rods.
I've never heard of 0's or 00's. A friend made up some 1's and 2's from sage blanks, but my God, they are tiny rods.
Great pictures as ever, Mic.

Nice eating size bara - so, they like bass-baits. Interesting - maybe anything?
I sure like the looks of your .45/70.
I tried my .458 2" loads in a friend's newly put together Siamese Mauser, .45/70. It developed the same ballistics as my .458 2". Good stuff.
Interested? I could PM them to you, Mic.

Good stuff Mick!
I'm very envious of the cod on fly. Still to happen for me.
Had a bit of a go in the Murrumbidgee when my daughter was at Wagga years ago, but no luck.
Caught carp though...

Liked your close shot on the doe: I had a red hind run past me flat-out (from behind!) and bagged her at a similar distance. Discovered later she was bedded just below the crest of the gully I was stalking, assume my scent had swirled around below her. Good camo helps. Love getting close!

We had a few good trips on the cod so decided to try the fly. long arvo for the one take.Pretty excited when he was landed.
Ive also been targeting the carp, lots of fun with great fights. They can be very touchy about presentation of the fly.
8 wt for the cod and 6wt for the carp. Going to use the 10 for future cod fishing.
Here's some more pics, cheers Mick

Few more pics, Hydro went well with a couple more retrieves today. As we approach the wall for a jump shot he goes into stalking mode.
New spot for a decent cod 67cm

Yes a new rifle 7x64 Mauser 66, haven't shot anything with it yet. Pretty nice set up. Running atomic 135gr projectiles

Also bought a old school Remington BDL 22-250 HB varmint. Shoots unreal with factory win 55gr PSP, looking forward to some spotlighting with it.

Loaded some 400gr hydros in the 500 Jeffery
