After 2 weeks of hunting heaven who'd want to go back to work?

He is a mate of mine and asked me to help design and test a new line of CNC machined bullets.
He is flying out here in the morning.
The 270 grain .366" was my design so I'm just a little proud of the way it worked from Sambar to Buffalo.

.308" and .366" are available now. I will have some .338" to test this week and the .375" and 458" are next.

Great to have another Australian made product like Woodleigh.

Cheers Neale.

Have some 230 grain .338" ACP's to test now.
They are the same length as the Barnes 210 grain TTSX.

Some amazing days of hunting in at least two vastly different locations on the continent, maybe more? I haven't watched the videos yet.

That's a rather different and devilish shaped horn banteng.

Wonderful sambar too.

Congrats on all the species.

The projectiles performance looks good too from the recovered projectile. I see the driving bands/grooves are machined into the shank.

Fatboy,
Bloody envious to say the least!
Looks like the 9.3mm's are worth every penny spent.
The original Hydros won't feed for me at all in my 9.3x64, being way too blunt, but these look just like the 286gn PP Woodies - no dramas there!

Did you use them in a 9.3x62mm & what would the extra impact velocity using the "hard" ones do on buffalo?
Any of these in .404's in the pipeline?

What did you end up using for each one & load please?

Oh by the way thanks mate your .404 load of 82gns of AR2209 (2240fps average) works a treat in my .404, bit low at point of aim at 50m with my CZ, had to get to 85gn to get there.
Von Gruff & Eagle27's 350gn cast load of 63gn AR2209 was absolutely bloody brilliant!
No flies on their 21gn Red dot either, split hairs between them.
Keep up the good work mate
Cheers

Mate the new Hydro's with the plastic cap should solve your feeding issues.

I used 59 grains of 2208 with a magnum primer under the 270 grain ACP (FATBOY) which is a medium for everything and got 2480 fps.
I have used R-17 and got 2540 fps.

I tested some new 230 grain .338's today so they wont be far away.
375 and 458 are next but he does intend to do from 6mm up and he owns a 585 Nyati so he will go big.

In the name of science I shot 3 goats and two pigs today with the new 338's.
Never got any back.

Here are two that came from my dirt back stop at 100 yards.

Excellent write-up & pictures Neale - thanks a huge amount.
The bullets look to be winners' all the way around.
I do like the looks of the bullet - all the ay around.

Well done!

Too bad you can't get BLC2 there. It's an incredible powder in the 9.3x62 - and .375/06IMP - it's capacity double in a 3/8" bore. I use it and H4895 in both ctgs. with all bullet weights.

Of course, there are no flies on 2,480 to 2,540fps with your loads and 270's.

It is interesting to compare the design of these, not really "driving bands" but grooves into the solid mono shank of the bullet.

Below is the GS Custom design where there are driving bands above the shank.

The spent projectile image of the GS Custom projectile shows the rifling only contracted the driving bands, not the shank for this projectile meaning less friction and wear and pressure on the barrel from the mono bullet.

A difference in design.

They are quiet long so case capacity is the issue. I can push 250 grainers to 2700 fps with R-17 in a 22" barrel.

The stag in the pic where you are wearing the blue shorts it looks like a different stag altogether.
Yellow wattles flowering in the background.Presumably its a different stag, he looks like it...You did well to take two.
