I am no expert on DR's, so can only add my 2 cents worth!

IMO, the left barrel is in love with IMR 4831. And if one assumes that the second shot with the Right Barrel is a flyer or pulled shot, then IMR 4831 without doubt produced the best group.

How do you feel about the second shot?

It looks simple to me too.

4831 in the left barrel and 4350 in the right.

Obviously, the 4831 load regulates better than the 4350 load, just curious, do you use the same loads in the Searcy? And, have NF's come up with a .500 bullet yet?

I hesitate to say that one load is better than the other, because such a statement would assume that both my eyesight and my marksmanship are good enough to actually tell the difference. Both of those loads shoot great in my Searcy, although the most accurate load in my Searcy is a 570 grain GS Custom FN solid ahead of 103 grains H4350. (There are no North Fork .50 cal bullets).

This rifle is in addition to my Searcy. For some reason, I got a good deal on it. Perhaps because it is Austrian rather than English? Perhaps because anything larger than .470 scares a lot of folks off?

I am a little confused! You are not telling us or at least leading us to assume that YOUR EYESIGHT AND MARKSMANSHIP are not of PAR EXCELLENCE?

Congradualatins on your new rifle.

From my limited knowledge of regulating DR's, I would find it very doubtfull that the same load for one rifle would be the load of chice for another. Do you know what the rifle was regulated for when it was built?

Mr. Hambrusch regulates his rifles with Kynoch ammo. David Little of Kynoch says that he uses his own blend of powders of 2 or more burn rates. If so, then it's a load development exercise to find the right load. But I think either of those loads can hit an elephant at 10 paces.

I recall a Ferlach built gun for sale at (I think it was) Cabella's.
If this is that one, and you got it for what they were asking, you did definitely get a screaming deal on it.

A comparison of my Hambrusch to my Searcy.

The Hambrusch has a thin receiver and a thin barrel profile. The Searcy has a much thicker receiver and a correspondingly thicker barrel width. Consequently the Hambrusch is lighter by almost a pound and feels nicer to swing.

Both the Hambrusch and the Searcy close up tightly. The Hambrusch is harder to open, in part because it has ejectors and in part because it has been used less.

The craftsmanship on things like the rib, the safety, the sights and the receiver is very well done on the Hambrusch, but is much lower grade on the Searcy. But keep in mind that I paid $7250 for the Searcy while Hambrusch is charging $29,500 today for a rifle similar to the one I own.

The Hambrusch has a lot more engraving, and nicer engraving, but that would be expected with the price difference.

The cast off on the Hambrusch is not quite right for me and needs a bit of adjustment. The Searcy stock fits me better, because the cast is closer to being just right.

Both rifles have good looking wood, but I would give the edge to the Hambrusch. But again look at the price difference.

I have shot some excellent grouups with the Searcy, and the limited shooting I have done with the Hambrusch shows it to be very accurate also. However, I have not shot the Ham enough to say if one of the rifles is more accurate than the other.

The Hambrusch has a top strap and beavertail forearm which I really like. The Hambrusch also has a Greener cross bolt, but I will leave it to the experts to say whether that is better. But at least it looks cool when in operation.

This is really not a fair comparison because of the vast price difference between the rifles. Yet there it is.
