That is pretty harrowing!
There are lots of accounts of lions killing other lions but is cannibalism among adult lions unusual?
The two look pretty lean so maybe that could be a contributing factor.

Documentaries usually sanitise it by the defeated lion running away.

I knew male lions killed old male lions to eliminate competitors but didn't realize that they then ate the dead lion. But that only makes sense. The dead lion is now just food.

Yeah - that was pretty rough. Kinda like wolves eating a moose, deer or elk while it is still alive. Couple holding it down, while the others eat.

Hard to watch but the absolute truth about lions and what they really are. A top tier predator and not some "Born Free" misunderstood animal pining for human affection.

He is what he is....

I've never been to Africa, so I have no personal experience with how they run their game parks/photo safaris. Maybe I'm wrong about this, but towards the end of the video it struck me as oddly foolish for a tour guide to park a car load of tourists in an open vehicle 30 feet away from an active kill site. From what I understand, lions are highly territorial animals who typically guard their kills. The nonchalant way the guide is acting, it's like they're on some damn ride at Disneyland! The driver/guide is not even watching the lions! He has his back to them while he's busy talking to the customers. In fact, he's not even sitting behind the wheel, ready to get out of there in case something goes wrong. The game guard sitting next to the guide is the only one who seems to have any concern about the situation at all. However, he's on the other side of the vehicle. If I was one of those people, I would much prefer he be the one behind the wheel. In a car like that and as close as they are, this driver would have no time to react if one of those buggers decided he didn't like intruders.

Seems to me like it's a pretty dangerous risk to take just for a "selfie"....
