Clark,

Yes, it's my gun. I'm either going to spend a couple of grand on a new stock. (The measurements don't fit me, I bought the gun used) or I'm going to order another from Butch. Only time will tell.

That is a beautiful rifle. I would think it should sell quickly.

That is the best looking Searcy I have ever seen by far.

Mainguide,

What is wrong with the dimensions for you?

A lot can be done by having the stock bent. Have you considered that?

Just trying to help.

Yeah I am sure you could have the stock altered to fit you better. Very nice rifle.

There's too much drop for me, about 1/2" or so. I don't know if it could be bent that much. Any thoughts??

Maineguide:

Whatever the outcome, I hope it works out for you!

At the very least, get another .577 - from your posts, I assume you've enjoyed your time with it!

Maineguide,

Your stock can be bent that much. I have had three shotguns bent with great success, some as much as 1/2". There's no reason to get rid of a gun for that reason.

Send me a PM if you want some contact info on who can bend your rifle.

Doesn't Champlins bend stocks?

JJ Perodeau at Champlins bent the stock on my 450 No2.
It did not change the finish on the stock one bit.

If a stock has an extended tang and triggerguard, can it still be bent?

No. The tangs would have to be stretched or cut. Bending would kink them or break them.
