Baikal sxs in Aus late 04

I was given the name of Bill Hailes as the distributor of Baikal's in Australia by the distributor in Austria, I was given the Austrian dist by Baikal as the on seller to Australia. When I first got the Austrian dist name I replied to Baikal that I was in Australia not Austria and that Australia is south of Indonesia, and was informed that they new full well where Australia was and the Austrian Co. was the on seller to Australia.

Any way I asked the following of Bill Hailes:

I was wondering if the IZHMP221 model (this is a SxS rifle) was going to be imported to Australia or whether this was just made for EEA in USA. EEA are stating that there is a holdup importing them into USA for some reason and don't expect them untill June. I'm particuarly interested in the 45-70 version.
If your are going to import them where would be the best place for me to buy one, I'm in Melbourne Victoria.

And was answered with:

we do not
expect stock untill the end of the year
i suggest that you check with local dealer around that time

Can you please give me the contact details for the Austrian dealer? I couldn't find it nor got feedback from Baikal....

I want to ask for the SxS availability here in Austria myself.

Looking at their details in their reply it's Germany, Baikal had said Austria.

As the single shot break open sells for about double the USA price on EEA, and EEA list the sxs at $629USD I would guess about $1200-$1300AUD
I really want one of these in 45/70

No idea who he is, the Hamburg mob also gave me a mobile no. so thats no help, could be anywhere in Aus
