Is it rust blue or satin finsh or what on a DG gun for Africa?

Since a guy can have a satin finish rust blue I'm not sure what you are asking.

I dislike rust blueing, simply because it does not hold up as well to handling and use as the best caustic blue finishes. All of my rifles have bead-blasted and wire brushed metal finishes that were then caustic blued. The look is nearly identical to rust bluing and totally non-reflective, but the durability factor is much greater.........

Personally I would choose the most nonreflective finishes available --animals might not care what the finish is but the glare will make them aware you are there...

What ever finish you do not care about because your gun will rack up a lifetime of use on safari. Between the dust and the constant gun handling the gun will come home "used". My hunting guns are just that. I do not care about scratches, dings or the finish wearing off the barrel. I wrap my barrels in camo cloth tape to eliminate the glare.
