The Bridger solids look like winners!
      #10328 - 28/02/04 12:30 PM

I finally got a chance to shoot the Bridger Bullets 500gr. monometal solids in my M-70 .470 Capstick.

They're long bullets.

Loaded to about the same COAL as the Barnes Original 500gr. FMJRN.

This was the best of the three groups shot at 50yds. It measures .749" wide by .672" high, outside to outside (bullet diameter is .474").

George

A belated welcome. I didn't know you had passed over. (here). Not bad. Ray recommends 50 grains less than normal with the Bridger. Have you tried the 450?

Hi Mickey,

I registered here a year ago, but didn't make it over that often.

John only had 500 grainers available at the time I got them; I may try the 450gr. later, but I've got a South American water buffalo hunt coming up in April and want to use the 500's this time.

You just think you like them now, wait until you shoot a Buffalo with them, you will finally be converted to solids in the chamber and magazine clan...

Hi George. Glad to see you over here.

Impressive cartridge and target.

Keep us posted on the 450 grainers. I've got a measly little 458 I would like to try 450 grainers in. If they work in your caliber the penetration in mine should be pretty good as well.

Roger,

This bullet testing can get expensive!

Hopefully, by the time my next DG hunt in Africa rolls around, I'll have a .458 to try out.
