My friend Chris Gilbert (a private pilot) and I flew from Houston, Texas to Chanute, Kansas over the weekend of November 22-23, 2008 to go visit the Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum. http://www.safarimuseum.com/ I thought I'd share a few photos from our trip.
Cheers! -Bob F.

Bob:
Great stuff.
I have one of Johnsons's books around here somewhere. Interesting people to be sure.
Thanks for posting!

I also read M & Osa's book. In my opinion, a really nice book written by charming people. Not much adventures but a scrupulous description of Africa and its game. Osa was a terrific shot also. I'd love having met them, Osa especially

Yes, I stumbled on Osa's book as a kid. I remember they had a Bland .470 and my thinking that sounded like a boring brand of rifle to have.

Hopefully not all the photos were hosted on Photobucket and some remain. I may have them archived on copies of threads lost on some external HDD somewhere ...
I too would love to make a pilgrimage to this museum one-day. A longer distance for me! I need a zebra striped float plane to get there!
