I like semi auto's. This one is way to ornate for my liking but I believe on of those could be set up to look better than a plain Jayne version.

The full lenght rib, better timber and some minor engraving.

Not much good having a cheek piece if you have to lift your head off it to see through the scope.

Re: semi auto's anyone?

Yes agreed about the scope, i had some beautiful "semi's" before our govt folded into all the anti #ull£hit. Agreed not hardly ever my first choice for "hunting" but when "pig shooting" I had a really nice FN .308 carbine with a C-More that was wonderful in the thick stuff. I did enjoy collecting them for the technical differences in there designs and some there wonderful simplicity. Have I missed them for hunting, no not really, but still annoys me greatly that we had to hand them in for destruction (although i made many $K from the compo). I could have almost dealt with it if our govt kept them for the defense of our country in time of need as god knows I dread the day we need them. The specs are sad, we have a wonderful if small and very respected Amed Forces here in Auzzie but the time I checked ( not great source) was told dont worry we have 6,000 Steyr's but it was sad to find out that when you took out all the extra's (transport, clerks, catering etc) that we had about 3,000 actual soldiers. Hope they figures are wrong but, do worry when I here the govt is pulling many more $ billion out of defense. Can't understand, sorry to get off subject but but yes still have a soft spot for the semi but love my mausers

Very, very interesting, Lancaster! Thank you for posting. I always enjoy the very unusual guns that you find pictures of and post here.

Thank you and good hunting!
